Many stake pool operators have interactive decentralised application-style websites allowing you to delegate your wallet and stake your ADA directly from their website.
This allows you to quickly and easily connect your wallet and delegate to their pool with a few clicks without needing to search or obtain their Pool ID.
This tutorial will guide you through delegating your ADA to a stake pool via their website. Not all stake pools can do this, as it takes a fair amount of development and resources to make a DApp-powered website interact with the Cardano blockchain.
Total Time: 5 minutes
Navigate to Your Stake Pool Website
Click on Connect
Once you’re on the website, click the “Connect” button to connect your wallet to the website.
Choose Your Wallet & Add the Website to the Whitelist
Choose your wallet; in this case, we are using Nami Wallet.
Add the website to the allowed list to give the website access to the wallet.
Here, you can see the website will be able to read the information associated with your wallet, which is publicly available on the blockchain, and request to start a transaction such as delegating.
Once connected, click “Delegate”.
Check and Sign the Transaction
A transaction request will appear.
It is important to double-check what this transaction is doing.
If this is the first time you’ve registered to delegate, you will pay a 2 ADA registration fee, which is redeemable and the transaction fee to delegate, which should be less than 1 ADA. In this example, it is 0.175665 ADA.
When clicking on the transaction details, you can see that it uses your payment and staking keys to sign the transaction. The stake key is specific for staking.
Sign the transaction with your password when you’re ready.
Success! You have delegated your wallet to the stake pool!
You will be given a transaction and a success notification.
You can check your Nami wallet in the main interface to confirm that you are now delegated to your new stake pool. It may take a couple of minutes for it to update.
