A big round up of Cardano news for you guys. We have a bunch of budget proposals that have been submitted, including the 96 million ADA proposal by IAG to continue development of Cardano. We’re going to look into that and find out exactly what it’s all about and what it means for the Cardano community as well. I also have updates around midnight, that brand new substrate blockchain that Cardano, the IAG team is actually building at the moment as well and pushing really hard. They’re at Paris Blockchain Week.

00:29
right now. And I also have updates around Cardano and Bitcoin. Bit of drama going on there, but we’re going to see exactly what’s happening, what projects are building on both chains and how Cardano is going to connect with the Bitcoin ecosystem. We also have some community updates. So that’s a lot to cover in this one. I’ll try and get through as quickly as possible. Let’s get into it. Okay. So this first update here, this is all around the Cardano governance budgets. This is, this is huge. And

00:59
Why is he because of the massive amounts of Ada that is being requested from all these different projects. IG requested 96.8 million Ada can to continue the development of Cardano. And I’m going to dig into this one here, but let me just highlight some others here. This is a brilliant post by Utah. He’s the top ranked D rep at the moment. But look at this. He’s put into a spreadsheet the top, I think it was 20 proposals here.

01:29
And the matter either that they’re requesting everything from 96 million, which is the highest there to 6 million and all the way down to half a million. So he’s filtered out any project that is less than half million. So these are the serious ones that need a ridiculous amount of a data to actually go forth and develop some new things. So this is really interesting. And I will, as a D rep, you have to go through all these proposals now and start filtering them out and start.

01:57
voting yes, no, or abstain, et cetera. So this is a process that all DREPs and Cardano governance will need to go through now because we have to release these funds for these particular projects. You have to evaluate each one. It’s going to take a while. Anyway, let’s have a look at input outputs. The IOG’s core proposal for 2025 core Cardano development. And this is very detailed here. It’s got a lot of information. You can get to it at the GovTools website. You can follow this particular link here.

02:27
It will take you to the website where you can read the full governance budget proposal. There’s quite a bit of detail here. If you want to read more, can. Links down below in the show notes for you guys or just do a quick search to be able to find it. But thankfully, some other D-Reps have gone through and broken this down for us. And this is a brilliant post by Ed and Stuff. And it goes through all the different core aspects about what it’s addressing for how much money it’s being used. So overall, it’s about 48 million.

02:56
US dollars at the 50 cents per ADA 50 cents USD to ADA. So that’s the rate that they’re looking at the moment. the USD is the conversion rate is a little bit higher at the moment, but it’s crashing. So it may be a little bit less, but this is the problems that it addresses. The current scaling scalability of the L1 and the demands that are required for it to meet.

03:22
The node design, that actual software that runs a Cardano blockchain. Smart contracts that the developers need. So addresses what the devs need to make better smart contracts. State pool operator related things such as improved security, lowering costs and fair incentives. User experience. Issues like mandatory ADA fees and transaction delays. So this would look into Babel fees and stuff like that. So this is a really good one too. And competitiveness.

03:48
Cardano must adopt new blockchain trends, e.g. actively validating service and stay relevant. And then lastly, maintenance. The core codebase needs ongoing updates and knowledge sharing. And that’s a big part of this proposal, actually. So let’s go down here and look at the key benefits that Ed points out. Ecosystem boosts network capacity with upgrades like Laos, L1 scaling, Hydra L2 and method like client support. This is all needed.

04:17
This this is one of the big things that is you know comparing us to other chains such as Solana or other L2s in the EVM space they all have high. Thera ports and a lot of transactions per second and lay us allows us to have parallel transactions happening so we can have multiple blocks being confirmed at the same time and they eventually merge together on chain so this is a huge capacity.

04:47
boost for the Cardano ecosystem. this is all on the L1 on core without needing to scale off to L2. So this definitely gives us a really big upgrade if we can get this one done. So this one here is important. Hydra we’ve seen the benefits of and being able to scale off on a side chain that’s a L2, sorry, that’s really important.

05:11
as well as Mithril, is being used all over the place to spin up nodes, et cetera, et cetera. So this is all really important stuff. Further down here, user faster transactions, flexible fees, such as that Babel fees. That is something that is really desired at the moment. And we’re just at the edge of launching Babel fees, thanks to Fluid Token’s team. So that’s absolutely awesome. And then I think this one here is really important. Improving the developer experience, improve tools.

05:39
For smart secure smart contracts and easier node integration. I think this is one of the most important things because if you want more adoption, want projects to be able to pick up developing on Cardano within a day and then start to deploying smart contracts and deploying dApps within a week. So that’s ideally the scenario that you want to see. You can do this in the EVM space. Two weeks, you can turn around a dApp quite easily. One week for the backend and the smart contracts.

06:07
second week for the front end side of things. So there’s a lot of off the shelf smart contracts and processes to deploy all that in the EVM space. And that’s what we need to actually reach or make even better on the Cardano ecosystem. From the state pool operator side, lowering the costs and in terms of RAM usage, I think that’s brilliant. I did a tutorial recently of how to set up your own node using a old piece of hardware that had 32 gig of RAM and you know, that that’s ample.

06:37
For future proofing it, but if they could reduce that even further and keep it at the 16 or the 24 megabytes gigabit of RAM that that’d be absolutely amazing because it means that there’s more longevity for this particular pieces of hardware that I’m using at the moment for for running a state pool. So that’s that’s awesome. If they can do that then plus enhanced security and potential new revenue, potential new revenue. That’d be great. There’s a lot of state small state pool operators out there that are struggling and

07:06
More revenue sources, the better. Then we have the major project costs. So this is what we’re paying for all this. Laos, the L1 scaling, 7.1 million. Sounds pretty good. Hydra, 1.2, essentially 2 million. Mithril, another 1.9. 1.9, I said 1.2, I meant 1.9, but rounding up to 2 million. So 1.9 here as well. So another 2 million. Plutus tool verification testing, 5 million combined. That’s quite a bit. Node refresh, Acropolis. I haven’t heard of this.

07:36
particular project, that’s two million there. Maintenance support, keep the ongoing tech, the tech that’s there already ongoing and upgraded. 14.7 million. This is apparently critical. That’s a ridiculous amount of money to spend. But okay, do we have a choice? I don’t think so. Total 48 million across 18 initiatives. Plan over 12 months. So this is 48 million over 12 months. That’s ridiculous. That’s a credible amount of money. I can’t imagine spending that much.

08:06
And then the team here, we’re looking at 140 to 160 full-time staff, including our engineers, partners from well type and TX pipe. So our partners, when you look at partners, contractors, they’ll be charging premium for sure. There’s definitely a lack of a high-end blockchain developers and Haskell developers at the moment, considering they have this many staff. I can see why it’s going to cost a lot, but this is a lot of money here for this many staff.

08:34
Maybe 200 staff, maybe 250 staff all up. So interesting breakdown. Now there’s a lot of arguments online on X talking about how much full time staff actually costs compared to everything else. And you know, it’s, I can’t really comment on that. I don’t know how much a full time staff member costs these days. Back in the day when I used to have a lead system architect in our company.

09:02
Who’s getting paid about 150,000 Australian. I think it’s roughly the same in the U S maybe Haskell developers are up closer to the 200,000 USD mark. And that’s a lot of money. That’s a lot of money and full-time staff plus additional expenses, whatever it is, it’s a really adds up. someone else would need to do the math on that. I’ll need to double check before voting on this one, but I think that’s a really minor thing. Um, do we have a choice?

09:32
To vote no for this one. I don’t think so because no one else is building this. No one else is going to come in and build layoffs for us. No one else has the knowledge and depth of Hydra, Mithril, Plutus, Node, and the maintenance support over the last seven and a half years of Cardano to be able to keep it running and going. IOG is the team that will need to do it for now. Maybe one day people be able to spin off from well typed and TX pipe and

10:01
Or these other companies are building the Cardano ecosystem and form their own company that could compete against I.G. Is that possible? Maybe not. Maybe I don’t know. It will take a lot of money, serious money, more than the 48 million that they’re asking for here. They will cost them two, three, half a million half a half a billion dollars to actually get together and form a new team to actually be able to run and compete against I.G. for.

10:31
you five years. So a lot of money to compete for this type of contracts. Anyway, this is all well and good. And you know, if you want to find all the details about this again, links down below, you can find this on X on the input output global or input output HK account. And you can find all the details around this proposal. Now, most people are in support of this overall. And I think some parts like this, the seven million for implementing

11:01
A wicked fast Cardano, I think is well worth it. Ouroboros Leos, the implementation to bring in that speed up of the L1 for just 7 million, I think is kind of worth it. So this is definitely something I would love to see ticked off and definitely ongoing. The other thing, other Cardano companies that are working with this, such as Anastasia Labs, they’re in full support with this. I believe they also were collaborating on this particular proposal.

11:30
to get it to a point where it is good for the community as well. People like Phil from Anastasia Labs fully endorse this and support it. And I have to go alongside with some of these core developers, these core people within the ecosystem. If they are contributing to this particular proposal, if they are the ones behind it as well, they know exactly what’s needed from a community point of view, from a developer point of view, not just from IG’s side of things where they’re

12:00
building and having that grand vision, but also from the community side that are trying to DAPs, trying to get the people involved, you know, all the, all the different point of view. And, um, if Phil agrees with this, I highly endorse and support it as well. So like I said, you can get to all of this at gov tools. And if you go on there now, there’s a lot of proposals up there.

12:26
I saw a couple pop up and I thought, great, I’ll have a bit of time to go through this and have a look at what the budget proposals are and what people are asking for in terms of funding. But this list just goes on and on and on. Now, even if you just look at the marketing and innovation section, there’s a lot of proposals. If you were in the project catalyst ecosystem, looking at the eight to a thousand different proposals being submitted,

12:56
This is heading that way, but with much, much higher budget proposals. Look at this budget request. I should say 4.2 million ADA for this particular budget here. What is this? Fuku AI on chain agents and underpinning infrastructure. I don’t know what this is. This is going to take me ages to go through. If you’re a D rep, you’ve got a lot of work to do, but there’s a lot of things here. There’s a lot of proposals here.

13:25
all in different areas. Some of them, think, are quite small, like this one here, and that’s probably better suited for a project catalyst and probably should be removed from here and moved over to project catalyst. Hopefully project catalyst does get a say in here. But you can see the level and extent of these particular proposals there in the many millions of ADA here. So that’s the scale that we’re looking at at the moment. Now I am a D-Rap.

13:55
And if you are looking at this and you’re absolutely overwhelmed and have no idea what to vote for, what on, don’t understand anything you’re looking here, don’t know where to put your AIDA to vote for these particular proposals, you can delegate that voting power to me. I’m at a 60 million voting power at the moment, and I will take that voting power, use it wisely and vote on these various proposals for you on your behalf. If you trust my opinion, if you trust

14:25
I’ve been doing in the Cardano ecosystem for the last four or five years, then you can delegate to me. This is my profile here. Just search for my name and you’ll be able to delegate directly from here by connecting your wallet and delegating your voting power. Now it’s not sending your ADA to me or anything like that. You’re just pointing your wallet to my D-Rep ID and then I can vote on your behalf. So your ADA balance, whatever it might be, I’ll be using that to vote in these particular budget proposals.

14:55
So if you have already delegated, like many other people have, highly appreciate your delegation. Thank you very much. Thank you for your trust. I’ll put that burning power to good use. Now, in terms of D-Rep compensation, this has always been a talked about thing since the initiation of D-Reps. And the initial conversation around this was always, if we are making D-Reps work more than a couple of hours a month,

15:25
Then we’re doing governance wrong. And I was all good for that. But if you look at the proposals now, you look at all these proposals, this is more than a couple of hours of work a week. This is, I spent two hours just looking at one proposal, trying to work it out and understand what they’re trying to achieve. And now there are hundreds of these proposals popping up and there’ll be more as the governance process goes along. So now we’re revisiting the whole idea about a DRAP compensation.

15:54
But Phil here did put together this mechanism to implement opt in D-Wrap compensation. So this isn’t mandatory. So it’s a nice implementation. It’s been given a SIP, a Cardano Improvement Proposal Number. I think it’s going to be 149. So here we’d be able to see if we can have this implemented and then have compensation for various D-Wraps.

16:21
In the ecosystem that were spending a lot of time and will be spending even more time on these particular pros proposals and just helping steer the direction of the Cardano ecosystem. So a lot of work a lot of work a lot of collaborators here to make Cardano governance happen. We’re getting we’re getting there and hopefully with tools like this I know this here this is from me. He’s a designer that’s designing a lot of really cool stuff in the Cardano space but this.

16:51
If we had something like this, let me mute that. If we had something like this in the Cardano space where we could easily involve ourselves in governance within this really cool app like this, this’d be amazing. It’ll just make governance so much easier. All the things that we need to look at or quickly voted on within the application itself, all the proposals, everything. This’d be brilliant. So I know this is only a mockup, but there were some people

17:20
saying, this may be coming closer and sooner than you thought. So I think people have seen this and went, oh my gosh, we need this. Let’s build this. You see Katana whale there saying need. So this could be really a good thing. And if the devs can get behind this as well, behind this design and implement something really cool, I think it’ll be absolutely amazing and make governance really easy on the ecosystem.

17:48
Fingers crossed we do see something like that. Now I do want to give a shout out for this particular proposal here. Now if you are voting for yourself on your own accord and you’ve signed up as a D rep or whatever it is, do have a look at this particular proposal about Cardano ecosystem pavilions at exhibitions. So this is the work from Dave, invalid EU tech. So he’s done the discover Cardano booth at the token.

18:17
2049 in Dubai, I think it was last year or the year before. He’s done it for a little while now and he’s had a presence in many of these really big conferences as well. And he’s always pushed an ecosystem wide approach to promoting Kidano at multi-chain events. think multi-chain events are really important because it lets people from other ecosystems see what Kidano is doing. And I really do support anything that Dave does.

18:46
shown that he’s capable of doing it, he’s definitely got the experience and the passion behind it all as well. So he’s definitely got the energy to commit to this and make it all happen. So if you are voting yourself and you are wondering about this one here, please give it a thumbs up, give it the yes vote. And I’d really appreciate it because having Dave’s work out there in the ecosystem really pushes it out further and increases that reach of the Cardano blockchain. So awesome stuff.

19:16
Now that’s all I have for the governance side of things. Like I said, links and references all down below in the show notes on the learn Cardano.io website. And this governance era is quite messy. It will get messy. There is going to be a lot of debate about this. There is a lot of money being thrown around. So keep your eyes open on all these updates. I’ll try and keep you update with everything that’s happening in the governance space.

19:41
Now I do these videos on regular basis to keep you guys up to date with everything that’s happening. I do all these interviews and I don’t get paid for any of this. All my revenue primarily comes from the YouTube ads and sale of NFTs. So if you want to support the channel, you can become a channel member. You can have a look here. These are all my fantastic channel members at the moment. You can subscribe if you have the means to do so and it’s just a price of a cup of coffee. So it’s

20:10
I’ve kept it as low as possible. if you can, if you do have the means, if you do want to support, you can do so that way. And it keeps me going, keeps me motivated and keeps me producing these videos for you guys. If you can’t afford that, that’s totally fine. You don’t need to don’t feel guilty that you can’t. But if you can at least hit that like and subscribe button, it helps with the algorithm and helps me get these videos out there for the community. Now with that out of the way, let’s get back to it.

20:38
Now, Midnight here is a really exciting project. It’s a privacy chain that IIG is working on at the moment. So this is their next project. It’s kind of like an evolution of Cardano, where you still have, you know, everything that you love about the Cardano ecosystem, but with added privacy on there, privacy that is, you can switch it on and off. So if you need to do a transaction and you want to keep it private, great, that’s by default. But if you need to show,

21:07
What is happening in that transaction? Maybe authorities are asking, are you money laundering here? Can we see the details of this transaction? You can send them those details and reveal the details of that particular transaction and you’ll be put in the clear. So it’s like Monero, but with the ability to be shared amongst authorities if needed. So that’s the way I see it. And I think that’s a nice way to explain what Midnight is.

21:34
They are doing some really cool things. They are powering on and this here, the upgrades to the test net, this will make nodes more efficient, simpler to set up and faster. So this is a really good move from midnight. I’ve been playing around with the test net as well on one of my Cardano nodes at home. And you’ll be able to now set one up with a little bit less resources. Wasn’t too much like if you can run a Cardano node at home, you’d be able to run one of these as well.

22:04
So it’s pretty straightforward. I didn’t like that was in a Docker thing, but maybe I can extract that and work out how it’s all built. But that’s beyond the point. The thing is that they’ve upgraded this and we’re to see much more efficient nodes. And I think that’s a really, really good thing. The other thing I’ve seen Midnight do is partner up with all these wallets. So all these wallets in the Cardano ecosystem, these key ones here, Keystone Hardware Wallet, and now Subwallet as well.

22:33
They’ve integrated in Cardano and of course now Midnight. This means that the ecosystem is now ready. So if you have one of these wallets existing already, you’re probably using one of these. They’re all really popular wallets. You’ll be able to connect into the Midnight ecosystem pretty much straight away from the get go. So I think they’re prepping all those pieces. So they’ve got the blockchain. They need to make sure they integrated wallets. The last thing you want to do is create your own wallet. Then people need to download and start lo of again.

23:02
Integrate into the existing ecosystem so all these wallets are ready to go so that they’re all partnering at least so that’s really good to see I think lace wallet should be in there as well I’m pretty sure laces supposed to be in there. Maybe they’re just working on at the moment But this here I feel like now that they’re announcing this type of thing they’re getting closer and closer to launch so if you haven’t used or set up one of these wallets here and Prepping yourself for midnight. I suggest you do

23:30
This other thing here, this is I thought I put this up a little while ago, but this is a partnership with IMX, the identity side of things, identity project on the ecosystem, Cardano ecosystem, and they’re partnered up with Midnight as well. They also have a partnership with Begin Wallet. So you’d be able to use Begin with an IMX identity and with Midnight. So that seems like a three-way combo that might be really interesting. So if you are needing to have self-sovereign identity,

24:00
Privacy and an easy wallet to use begin wallet is probably your starting point there now the importance of this is if you’re looking at something like RWAs real-world assets, you would probably need to identify yourself as the correct person that is purchasing those assets to prove who you are and You need that identity part with it. So that’s where IMX comes in now if you also happen to be a multi-billion dollar hedge fund

24:30
then you also need the privacy window within those transactions so that your competitors don’t know what you’re trading. So here is your legal compliance of your identity. Here, midnight is your private transaction to settle that particular RWA transaction, whatever you might be doing. And you can do that all in one of these wallets, such as begin wallet. All the pieces of the puzzle are falling together guys. We are very close in regards to launching midnight, I think, and you need

24:59
get yourselves ready. The other thing you can look at here is what’s happening at Paris blockchain week. Midnight is there. One of the proud sponsors that have lots of activations, midnight activations, lots of these different events going on. You can scroll through this X thread here and see all the different things, everything from presentations, conversations, panels, et cetera, et cetera. So a lot happening at Paris blockchain week in regards to that kind of stuff.

25:26
If I do find any of this online, I will share it as well because this is a really good info that we need to keep up to date with. Now the last thing here I thought I’d just point out is this ad that has come up on Brave browser around midnight. And you can tell they’re really pushing things when they’re advertising on Brave browser as well. This will reach many, many more millions of users. So this is definitely a big push by the team at the moment.

25:55
probably to capitalize on everything that they’re doing in regards to Paris blockchain week. But having this cemented in everyone’s browser at the moment, a lot of people in the crypto space do use Brave, I think is a really good indicator there might be launching really soon. So this is awesome stuff. Now that’s all I have around the midnight side of things. Again, links, references, everything down below in the show notes.

26:21
Right now this is an update from the Bitcoin and Cardano side of things and Bitcoin OS was supposed to integrate in the Cardano ecosystem and make Cardano an L2 for Bitcoin. So anyone that is looking for DeFi opportunities on within the Bitcoin ecosystem could do so via integrating with Cardano and that will have like a seamless experience and whatnot. But this was a presentation that Yago did the other day.

26:51
I don’t know where it is, but I believe it’s at a Bitcoin centric conference. But let me just play this for you here. Let me just click play. Turns out there is one and that is Bitcoin. And so a lot of you have seen weird shit happening and probably coming out of the Bitcoin OS Twitter. You probably heard that Cardano are integrating into us and Arbitrum are integrating into us. And they’re basically for some reason, this Bitcoin project is integrating with every sort of shit coin you can imagine. Why is this happening?

27:21
OK, that’s where I wanted to stop it. Now, Yago was at the Kidano Summit last year talking about Bitcoin OS and its integration with Kidano. And I’m pretty sure there he just called Kidano a shit coin. Let me just back it up a couple of seconds. Yeah, there we go. It does say shit coin with every sort of shit coin. All right. OK, so.

27:46
I had to post this one up and, you know, it’s a little disappointing to hear. Cardano being called a shit coin, especially with someone that was trying to really push into the Cardano space and really leverage what the community has in terms of its engagement to push up Bitcoin OS. And, you know, the community, the Cardano community did respond. And if you have a look at these posts down here, everyone’s like, yeah, what do you expect?

28:16
Hilarious after watching this yet he is you know it’s it’s it’s it’s all here like you can read the responses for yourself but it’s not what I expected to hear from like an ecosystem partner that is working with and integrating in Cardano so I know Charles has mentioned in other videos that he will be demonstrating.

28:41
at the Bitcoin conference in May later this year and integration between Bitcoin and Cardano and how Cardano DeFi can help Bitcoin. I believe that’s a competing project with Bitcoin OS. So with Bitcoin OS, the big downside after the conference, what came out was they’ll be releasing their own currency, their own token, their own shit coin to power Bitcoin OS. So, you know, it’s…

29:10
Anytime a project launches a token like this, all I see is money grabbing. That’s all I see. And the only chain that didn’t do this was Milkomedar. And I can, you know, I understand the pros and cons. Milkomedar didn’t launch its own token and wanted to use ADA so that ADA users could benefit from the price appreciation of it being used on another chain. So that makes total sense there. But because it didn’t have its own token,

29:39
people couldn’t speculate in its value in a Milkomeda token. And, you know, many people didn’t invest into that particular chain, didn’t speculate into that chain and didn’t buy any tokens because there weren’t any. And if they did, I think it would have really boosted up Milkomeda’s ecosystem and attracted more people there, even with the bridge hacks and everything else. But, you know, it’s it’s something that could be good, could be a bad thing. But Bitcoin OS, when there are

30:06
themselves at the Cardano Summit never ever mentioned that they’ll have their own token. And it really led me to believe that Bitcoin LOS was going to use Bitcoin as their fee token on their ecosystem. So if you did a DeFi swap or whatever it is, it will take a little bit of Bitcoin on the way and pocket that as a transaction fee. And that made sense to me because Bitcoin is very valuable. It’s very desirable. So a little bit of a Bitcoin transaction there for some of that trading, you know, 10, 15 Bitcoin wouldn’t really matter.

30:36
So that I thought was really appealing. then implementing that with Cardano DeFi, absolutely brilliant. But then they had to throw in their own token in there. And that just gave me weird, dirty feelings. So I’m not sold on the Bitcoin OS side of things in that narrative anymore at this point in time. You can sway my mind. If I spoke to Yago about this and got a really good understanding,

31:06
about what they’re doing, maybe, but at this point in time, no, I really don’t like this approach. Especially when you get up on stage and just call everything else a shitcoin. But I do understand he did apologize here and did want to clarify what he was saying. He was at a Bitcoin conference and all Bitcoiners refer to everything else as shitcoin. So I do understand that. But to actually hear it is really disappointing and so just it just hurts.

31:36
That’s all I can say. But here, Cardano well says, feel free to call Cardano a shit coin to Bitcoiners and to call Bitcoin old outdated tech to Cardano people. Well, two different groups with different starting perspectives that we’ve had to bring together. That are hard to bring together, but you’re doing a great job. So there is definitely support from the Cardano ecosystem here in regards to what’s Prove me wrong. Show me how.

32:04
Bitcoin OS is for a Kidano show me how Bitcoin OS is good for Bitcoin. I’m waiting to see but you know these type of projects brilliant in terms of interoperability and making those cross chain and island silos of each ecosystem form into one. I think that’s brilliant. I’ll wait to see it. I’ll shout my praises when I see it.

32:30
But there are other projects in the ecosystem that are bringing in this level interoperability as is using bridges such as Onechain. And this is the dog token coming over from Bitcoin over to Cardano. So awesome stuff. Thank you Onechain for tirelessly working on making Cardano better with all these bridge assets. We also have a bunch of projects such as Tokyo and to begin wallet building all of these levels of integrations with Bitcoin OS here.

32:59
So they’re working with Bitcoin OS to make this all happen. And also other partners such as Maestro with their Bitcoin API to bring in a awesome DeFi wallet that works with Cardano Bitcoin and future chains as well. So if you want to learn more about what Tokyo are doing, check out this thread here, links down below in the show notes for you guys. Now I’ll finish up with a bunch of highlights here. I got about four really cool highlights from the community.

33:27
This first one here is from ZK Fold. Now ZK Fold got into Draper U, that startup program that is starting over in San Francisco very soon. So this is a really cool project. They’re doing privacy, zero knowledge proof privacy transactions on the ecosystem. And they’ve introduced their smart wallet. This is a brand new smart wallet, all in one API library for implementing a Cardano wallet. This library is backed by an on-chain smart contract.

33:57
and a set of back-end services. Today, Smart Wallet with its first feature, Web2 Login, has officially hit testnet. Now you’ll be able to use this particular wallet here with an email address as your Smart Login, your Web2 Login, and can send and receive payments on Kadino with just your Google account. This is really good for the ease of onboarding. I spoke about this in my other video when talking about

34:27
onboarding users into the Cardano space and to making it easier for them. So we could inject a huge amount of liquidity with USDM and USDA, but if the friction point was still hard to start and launch, then it would never happen. If you have to download 20 different wallets to use it in the Cardano ecosystem, it just makes things hard. Everyone on the internet has an email address and they can start using and sending and receiving ADA straight away with just their email address.

34:56
and to all control by smart contracts here. So this smart wallet, awesome stuff from the ZK Fold team. So if you want to check that one out, I’ll put links down below. Everything’s on test set at the moment, so you can try it out and send and receive some test data at the moment. Really cool stuff there from the team.

35:16
This next update here is from the Eternal team. Congratulations Eternal. Eternal is probably my favorite desktop wallet for sure. And it allows you to connect to every single DAP in the ecosystem. It’s like a Swiss army knife wallet, but they’ve upgraded the UI. It’s taken two years, continuous development, continuous tweaks, a lot of improvements, a lot of improvements to the underlying code of Eternal as well to make this all happen. And we now have the brand new wallet launch version.

35:45
2.0 is on mainnet. So you can check this one out, links down below for you guys. But if you search for eternal wallet, it’s about a little bit differently here, but just follow the links here for eternal. And you’d be able to download the wallet in your browser. It’s a DAP based browser based extension wallet. Connect to any of the DAPs out there. Send, receive, delegate to DRAPs, delegate to state pools, everything you need and everything you could possibly think of. It seriously is a Swiss army knife.

36:15
of wallets, but they’ve made it simple now too, with a simple view as default. So it makes the onboarding experience for new people much better too. So awesome stuff guys. It really feels like everything is falling into place at the moment. We have, you know, upgrades left, right, and center, easier onboarding experience from the wallets. It all really is coming into place. This update here from DC Spark, Sebastian

36:42
Gilmont, he’s one of the founders of DC Spark that’s built in the Commodore and all these other projects for the Cardano ecosystem. he used to be one of the core developers for Yoroi back in the day when he used to work for Amerigo. So he’s got a long history working in the Cardano space. Now this here, he mentioned that we acquired 460k USD of ADA and donated it to the Cardano treasury. This represents a 400k loan.

37:12
and 60K in accumulated interest. Thanks for support for DT Spark. This is really good. I don’t know any other project in the Cardano ecosystem that’s donated, donated straight off the bat, almost half a million USD to the Cardano treasury. That is incredible. So thank you, Sebastian, for doing that. Like huge hats off to you. I haven’t liked this yet. So sorry. There we go. Like that.

37:42
But you know that this is a massive donation in regards to keeping that treasury up and running so he’s essentially paid for some of these other projects that are requesting funds at the moment so he’s put in what 600,000 so he’s paid for this area because I in ex work killer whales show or the ZK fold roll up project is just paid it for a year amazing so you know you can criticize DC spark or you want you can say that you know they’ve.

38:12
taking so much money out of the Cardano ecosystem to build their projects, but they’re giving back as well. They’re giving back in terms of, you know, all the tools that are built, all the libraries, all their contributions, all the SIP proposals and monetary funds directly back to the Cardano treasury. So, you know, amazing. Thank you, Sebastian. Thank you, DC Spark. This last one here that I want to talk about, and I thought this is just pretty cool. Then this is the proof of

38:40
proof of something. What is it? Proof of Cardano proof of know POC. POC hoodie comes embedded with the NFC chip linked to a unique on chain token, verifying the hoodies authenticity with the Cardano blockchain. I’ve got one of these hoodies. It’s really cool. Let me just, there we go. See that little patch on the side there, that little icon there. If you hold your phone up to this and scan it, it’s got an NFC chip here and you can scan that or load up.

39:08
browser link and that will link it to this particular hoodies verification NFT that stored on chain. So you can can verify that this is the authentic hoodie from this collection here of the Cardano foundation that they’ve made. So you can get this particular hoodie, verify that it is the correct one from the Cardano foundation and and wear it proudly. So I think it’s brilliant.

39:37
I’m winter’s coming up here in Australia so there’s more reason to buy this particular hoodie. You know there’s parts of Europe and North America that are still cold so you can still purchase one of these in the summer or spring months I guess and it’s a really cool hoodie overall for 79 USD. I think it’s well worth it so check that one out guys. Cardano store store.Cardano.org is the website they do have some other merchandise here I did buy.

40:08
some shorts, these shorts, these swimming trunks have been awesome over summer here in Australia. So check those ones out as well. They don’t have one of those NFC chips on this one here. think the huge amount of water exposure, salt water won’t go too well with, you know, the NFC side of things, but they’re pretty cool shorts anyway. All right, guys. So lots of updates there for you. All the show notes, you can get them at the learnCardano.io website.

40:35
I have now gated all that. This is a bit of an experiment to see how it all goes. A lot of people don’t even look at the show notes. So this is something that, you know, the people that really want it, they can, but you can always search for all these links and references anyway. But you will need a Cardano Press NFT to unlock those show notes on the website. I’ve got some up there anyway. You can have a look at the main core things, but all the other links and references that aren’t probably as important.

41:04
You need the NFT to get into it and have a look. And that’s all built with Cardano Press. I think this is a really good showcase of its capabilities. And if you enjoyed the content, if you liked what you’ve heard in this podcast episode, firstly, thank you for listening all the way to end, but make sure you hit that thumbs up, like, subscribe, notification bell on your way out. I’ll keep you guys up to date with everything that’s happening in the Cardano space. I’ll see you guys in the next video.
