Mastering Cardano Governance: A New Toolkit for D-Reps

Episode by Peter Bui on May 12th, 2026

The Cardano ecosystem has officially entered a high-stakes era of decentralised governance. As of May 2026, we are facing an “information overload” that would challenge even the most seasoned political analysts.

Currently, there are 89 active proposals on the Intersect Hydra interface, representing a total ask of 639 million ADA. With a Treasury “Net Change Limit” of 350 million ADA for this round, we simply cannot fund everything.

As a D-Rep, how do you filter the signal from the noise? To solve this for myself and the community, I spent the last weekend building a dedicated solution: the Cardano D-Rep Dashboard.

The Problem: The Spreadsheet Nightmare

Trying to track 89 proposals across different tabs—checking milestones, verifying team backgrounds, and cross-referencing the Cardano Constitution—is a recipe for burnout. Most D-Reps are currently stuck in a cycle of “manual labour,” copying JSON data into spreadsheets and losing track of their own voting logic.

The Cardano D-Rep Dashboard (available at cardano-drep-dashboard.learncardano.io) is designed to turn that “nightmare” into a streamlined, professional workflow.

1. The 4-Pillar Scorecard Metric

I don’t believe in “gut feeling” voting. To ensure every ADA withdrawal is justified, the dashboard implements a standardised scorecard based on four critical sections:

  • Team & Track Record: Are they doxxed? Have they delivered on Cardano in 2025?
  • Strategic Fit & Need: Does this align with the “Cardano 2030” strategy? Is it a genuine necessity for the ecosystem?
  • Financial Structure: Is the budget breakdown reasonable? Is it milestone-based?
  • Delivery & Accountability: Is the output open-source? Are there clear success metrics?

Each metric has a specific weight that determines an overall Aggregated Rating (Green, Amber, or Red), providing an instant visual indicator of a proposal’s quality.

2. Your AI Governance “Co-Pilot”

One of the most powerful features I’ve integrated is the “Ask AI” module. Evaluating whether a proposal is “Constitutional” is a dense task. The dashboard pulls the full JSON data for a proposal directly from the Intersect API and feeds it into an automated prompt for tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Perplexity.

By providing the AI with the literal text of the Cardano Constitution, you can get a high-assurance analysis of a proposal’s alignment in seconds. It’s not a replacement for your vote, but it is the ultimate research assistant for a busy D-Rep.

3. Public Rationale & Accountability

Transparency is the backbone of the Voltaire era. If people are delegating their ADA to you, they deserve to know why you voted the way you did.

The dashboard allows you to:

  • Set Public Rationale: Write your reasoning for each vote.
  • Generate Shareable URLs: Create a unique public page showing your scorecard and rationale.
  • Dynamic Social Previews: When you share your link on X (Twitter), it automatically generates a visual “Twitter Card” that shows your voting status and rating, making it easy to engage with your delegators.

4. Security Without Compromise

I know how important security is in this space. The platform uses SIP-8 message signing for authentication. When you connect your wallet (such as Eternl or Typhon), you are simply verifying that you own the D-Rep state key. No ADA ever leaves your wallet, and no spending transactions are required to use the tools.

Join the Governance Revolution

Cardano governance is only as strong as the people participating in it. Whether you are a D-Rep managing millions of delegated ADA or a community member curious about where the Treasury funds are going, this platform is free for you to use.

I built this to speed up my own process, but I hope it helps the entire ecosystem move toward a more evidence-based, transparent future.

All right, everyone, this is for everyone out there in the Kedana ecosystem that is interested in the governance process at the moment. So there’s a lot of treasury withdrawals and also a lot of proposals that are being submitted to the Hydra, the Intersect Hydra interface. I probably should pull that up as well. But what I’m showing you guys here is an overview of a platform that I just whipped up over the weekend that helps.

any D reps or anyone that is interested in voting in the Cardano ecosystem for all these treasury and governance action items at the moment. You could use this platform as a short listing and scorecard platform for all those proposals. I’ll show you exactly what I mean here. So if I take you through this platform here, you can get to this at Cardano-drep-dashboard.learncardano.io and it will list all the current proposals that are up for voting at the moment. And you can see

There’s a lot of them here. There’s 88. There’s just one more submitted this morning. So technically there’s 89. Total ask at the moment is 639 million ADA. And we have a limit of 350 million ADA this round until mid next year. So if you go through all of these proposals here, you can see what people are asking for, how the money is going to be spent, et cetera, et cetera.

So I’m just going to go through down here and there’s one proposal. It’s my own proposal, so I can talk about that and not trash or bag any other proposal in this process of this video. So this one here is around the Kodano content creator platform. there’s a team of six of us that are trying to create videos for the next 12 months. Anyway, the platform here that I put together will pull up the proposal, give you the abstract and summary, and you can click off to the Hydra platform.

form where you’ll see the entire proposal in its entirety. So you can see what it’s all about. It’s got all the milestones, the key metrics, who’s behind the proposal, everything that you expect. The D-Rep dashboard here will give you that summary. But what I’ve put together here is a scored card metric. And this is to help me. I built this for myself, but then I thought, hey, why not?

Peter (02:20.288)
open it up to any other D-Rep out there and maybe they can put in some input in terms of scorecard criteria. But I’ve put the criteria here into a couple of four different sections. So we’ve team, track records, strategic fit and need, financial structure, and also delivery and accountability, and then various metrics that sit under all those categories, such as is the team docs, prior delivery on Kadano, is the output open source.

And it goes through all these things here. You can check it out for yourself and get better understanding of the scorecard and all metrics. Each one of them has a little info card here where I put in more information about that particular metric. So if it didn’t make sense in this little description, you can go dig a little bit deeper. Now with all of them as well, I put together a automated prompt to help AI answer your question about this.

So if you click on the AI ask AI button, it will give you various different platforms here. So I use chat Claude, perplexity, grok, whatever you want. So I’ll just use chat here and pre populate that prompt with all the information from the proposal. So give the outline of what you’re trying to do and what you’re trying to achieve the proposal itself. Then it pulls in all the data that I could find. So it gives you the title. This is really important here. This is the

actual Hydra platform, the intersect one pulls all the JSON data from the API itself. So it gives the AI the entire entirety of the proposal. So that’s really important. And then also gives context about what’s going on as well. So this one here, asked if it is constitutional and I’ve included in the text version of the Kodano constitution. So it’s got

all the context it needs and I can just click think, send the prompt and it would go off and do its thing. So I’ll just leave that there in the background to do its thinking. You can go through here and you can see all these other aspects, all these other ones here. I’ll explain what this means here. So auto, when I imported all of the data from intersect and from on chain, I put it through a schema, a structured data.

Peter (04:45.23)
alignment to be important to this platform. And at that time, I also got AI to analyze the data that was coming through to see if aligned with this criterion. So it kind of made that process a little bit quicker for me. And if it could give me a high assurance that it did tick off that particular criteria, it automatically tick it off. But you can always override this and say, no, I don’t like that. I disagree.

And you can double check everything with AI as well. And also the proposal itself to see if it all lines up. Now each one of these has a certain weight and this is my opinion of what these weightings should be valid at. So unfortunately I don’t have the ability to change the weightings per D rep. So you may think that this is not applicable. So you can choose not applicable and it won’t

in that particular waiting for this particular project. For example, like I’m open source is, is the project open source? the video content creation, not applicable. I could make it all shareable, whatever. So yeah, it is all my videos that I create you. Anyone can repurpose it and do whatever they want with it. I don’t care. so that is all open there. So technically yeah, kind of open source. So you can override all those things.

At the end of that, it will give you an overall scoring for each one of the categories. So if it’s good, it will give you a good rating there. Strategic fit let you know. And then overall, it give you an aggregated weighting for this proposal. And here it’s given an aggregated one of 91%. So it’s green. Now over with that, I have high confidence in that one. It’s my own proposal. So I can say, yep, it’s green, amber, red, whatever it is.

Now the other thing here that I added into the platform is the ability to publish this to a open area where people can see. So all this stuff here that I’m doing, this is all private. So as a D rep, if you’re coming in and you’re trying to work out what to vote on, you can have this platform and have it all private and not share anything. But each one of the proposals, you can set it to publish, then you get a sharing URL for that particular proposal. So here now I can click on this one here. I can share it to X Facebook, LinkedIn, or just copy the link.

Peter (07:08.79)
If I go to this URL here, it’ll give me my public, public rationale and a rating for this particular proposal here. And you can see it’s, it’s my proposal who the D rep is it’s abstained and my overall voting and rationale behind it, along with the scorecard as well. hopefully this platform here will help anyone else in the Kedana ecosystem that is looking to vote.

on all the governance proposals out there. I saw the proposals come up and I was trying to go through them and trying to work out how to do it. was opening up a spreadsheet. It’s trying to copy all the data over. I thought, is just a nightmare. It’s just messy. And it’s going to take me even longer. So this platform here took me a couple of days to piece together. It’s, I think it’s going to speed up my process and help me here.

And hopefully someone else, anyone else can use the platform and hopefully it will speed up your process too. It doesn’t take any money. It does use your wallet though. So you can see here in the top right hand corner, you can connect your wallet. It needs to be your D rep wallet. So it will connect in and it get your state key. Read the data that’s on chain. uses the koios API. Great API service. Thank you guys for.

making it free and available, but you need to sign in and verify that you are the owner of that particular wallet. So a pop-up will come up from a turn or whatever wallet you’re using. It’s just a SIP 8 signing and verification. Nothing leaves your wallet. So just check that transaction. It’s a signing, a message signing, sign that message and you’re essentially good to go. So I have to use a hardware wallet. I’m not going to do it on the video.

But you’re good to go. can go in and start using the platform. Like I said, completely free. You can share all this on social media. And I found some really cool things. I never knew that this Twitter card here, this visual image that you see here can be generated dynamically. I didn’t know that. So in building this, I found some libraries and some really cool things. So that should automatically post on X and show your voting rationale there as well. So lots of cool things. Anyway, guys.

Peter (09:30.38)
If you are a D rep, if you are interested in the constitution side of things, if you are interested in the governance side of things, check out this platform, a piece together for the community use. Hopefully people, other people use it as well. Links down below everything in the show notes. I’ll see you guys in the next video.
