1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Peter Bui, Trading as PP Ventures Proprietary Ltd ABN 46 166 043 492 (“we“, “us“, “our“), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information through the Learn Cardano brand and its associated properties.

This Policy applies to the following websites, services, and activities (collectively, the “Services“):

• learncardano.io — the Learn Cardano main website, including the Learn Cardano Podcast, blog, newsletter, comments, wallet connection features, courses and educational content, and the merch shop;
• bounty-preview.learncardano.io and any production successor domain — the Cardano Bounties platform;
• Interview booking pages (including learncardano.io/interview-booking) and any associated Buy Me a Coffee fast-track tier payments;
• The Learn Cardano newsletter distributed via X (formerly Twitter) Articles and email;
• Other content and properties operated under the Learn Cardano brand that link to this Policy.

We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Services.

3. The personal information we collect

The categories of personal information we collect depend on how you interact with the Services.

3.1 Information you give us directly

• Identity and contact details: name, email address, and (optionally) website URL, social handles, or business name — for example when you subscribe to the newsletter, leave a comment, book an interview, submit a contact form, or register an account.
• Interview booking information: details about you, your project, the project’s website and social presence, scheduling preferences, and any supporting materials you provide for editorial review.
• Course and merch transactions: shipping address, billing details (processed by third-party payment providers — we do not store full card numbers), order history, and any communications regarding your order.
• Buy Me a Coffee fast-track payments: information you provide via the Buy Me a Coffee platform when purchasing a fast-track interview tier (handled by Buy Me a Coffee in accordance with their privacy policy).
• Cardano Bounties account information: username/handle, email, profile details, bounty submissions and links to your work, social/portfolio links, and communications with bounty sponsors and platform staff.
• Wallet-related information: if you connect a Cardano wallet to the Services (e.g. via CardanoPress wallet connect or any bounty payout flow), we receive your public wallet address(es), stake address, and signed messages. We never receive or request your seed phrase, private keys, or wallet passwords. Anyone with this Policy should keep their seed phrase private at all times.
• Communications: emails, Discord messages, X DMs, YouTube comments, and other communications you send to us.

3.2 Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data: IP address, browser type and user agent, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, click and scroll behaviour, and approximate location derived from IP.
• Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 7 below.
• Analytics events: non-identifying events generated by analytics tools we use (e.g. page views, conversion events).
• Server logs: standard web server logs maintained for security, abuse prevention, and diagnostics.

3.3 Information from third parties

• Gravatar: an anonymised hash of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to display your profile picture alongside comments. See Automattic’s Privacy Policy.
• Payment processors: Buy Me a Coffee, Stripe, PayPal, or similar providers may share transaction confirmations and limited payer details with us.
• Social platforms and embedded content: YouTube, X, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Discord, and others may share limited engagement data when you interact with embedded players or links.
• Blockfrost and Cardano blockchain data: publicly available on-chain data (transactions, stake activity, delegation) associated with public wallet addresses that interact with our Services.
• Cardano Bounties partners: when bounty sponsors run their own programs through the platform, they may share submission evaluations or sponsor-specific information with us.

3.4 Sensitive information

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (such as health, racial, religious, or political information) as defined under the Privacy Act. Please do not submit such information through our Services.

4. How and why we use personal information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

1. To operate the Services — host and display content, process newsletter subscriptions, accept and moderate comments, run the Cardano Bounties platform, deliver courses, and fulfil merch orders.
2. To process payments and transactions — including Buy Me a Coffee fast-track interview payments, merch purchases, and bounty-related disbursements.
3. To facilitate interview bookings — assess project fit, schedule recordings, and prepare research and questions.
4. To enable wallet-based features — verify wallet ownership, identify delegators (e.g. for the ADAOZ stake pool delegator-exclusive content), and process on-chain interactions you initiate.
5. To send communications — newsletter, course updates, transactional emails (order confirmations, password resets, bounty status updates), and responses to your inquiries.
6. To improve and develop the Services — analytics, A/B testing, feature development, and content planning.
7. To ensure security and prevent abuse — fraud detection, spam filtering, rate limiting, abuse investigation, and platform integrity (including on Cardano Bounties).
8. To meet legal and regulatory obligations — including Australian tax, consumer law, and any applicable record-keeping requirements.
9. To enforce our Terms of Service — investigate violations, defend legal claims, and protect the rights of our users and the Cardano community.

We will only use your personal information for the primary purpose for which it was collected, or for a related secondary purpose that you would reasonably expect, unless you consent or we are otherwise permitted by law.

5. Legal bases (for users in jurisdictions where this applies)

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases:

• Consent — newsletter subscriptions, optional cookies, optional fields.
• Contract — fulfilling interview bookings, course access, merch orders, and Cardano Bounties participation.
• Legitimate interests — running and securing the Services, preventing abuse, basic analytics, and direct communications to existing customers/users.
• Legal obligation — tax records, responding to lawful requests.

6. Disclosure of personal information

We disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients only as needed:

• Hosting and infrastructure providers — including AWS (EC2), CDNs, and database providers that host learncardano.io and the Cardano Bounties platform.
• Email and newsletter providers — for delivery of newsletters and transactional emails.
• Payment processors — Buy Me a Coffee, Stripe, PayPal, and merch fulfilment partners.
• Analytics and tag management — including Google Tag Manager and any analytics tools loaded via GTM, plus first-party analytics where used.
• Spam, security, and CAPTCHA services — for example, Akismet (or equivalent), reCAPTCHA, and abuse-prevention tooling.
• Cardano ecosystem service providers — including Blockfrost (for chain data) and wallet providers you choose to connect.
• Bounty sponsors and reviewers — for Cardano Bounties, your submission details and contact information are shared with the relevant bounty sponsor for evaluation and payout coordination.
• Professional advisors — accountants, auditors, and lawyers, where reasonably required.
• Government, regulators, and law enforcement — where required by law, court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
• Successors — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or restructure, your information may be transferred subject to this Policy.

We do not sell personal information.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for the following purposes:

• Strictly necessary — login sessions, security tokens, wallet-connect state, cart contents.
• Functional — remembering your name/email for comments, language and display preferences.
• Analytics and performance — understanding how the Services are used so we can improve them.
• Tag management — Google Tag Manager (container ID: GTM-W49L88K8) loads other tags as configured.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and via any cookie banner provided. Disabling some cookies may affect the functionality of the Services (for example, comment forms and logged-in features).

Comment cookies (WordPress)

When you leave a comment, you may opt in to save your name, email, and website in cookies for one year so you do not need to re-enter these details. Login and screen-option cookies are also set if you have an account.

8. Wallet connect and blockchain interactions

Cardano is a public, permissionless blockchain. When you connect a wallet to the Services:

• We see your public wallet address(es) and stake address.
• Any transactions you sign are public, permanent, and pseudonymous — they can be viewed by anyone via a blockchain explorer (e.g. Cardanoscan).
• We cannot access or move your funds. We do not custody assets.
• We do not ask for and never want to know your seed phrase, private keys, or wallet password. Anyone asking for these details — whether claiming to be us or otherwise — is attempting to defraud you.

For the Cardano Bounties platform specifically, payouts may be made to the wallet address you nominate, and on-chain payout records will be permanently visible on the Cardano blockchain.

9. International data transfers

The Services are operated from Australia and use providers located in Australia, the United States, the European Union, and other regions. By using the Services, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data-protection laws.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients handle your personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

10. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this Policy, including legal, accounting, and reporting obligations. General retention periods are:

• Comments and forum posts: retained indefinitely to allow auto-approval of follow-up comments and to preserve discussion context, unless you request deletion.
• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
• Account holders (Cardano Bounties, courses): while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards.
• Order records (merch, courses, Buy Me a Coffee fast-track): for the period required by Australian tax law (currently 5 years from the relevant transaction).
• Server logs and security records: typically 30–90 days, longer if required for investigations.
• On-chain data: by the nature of public blockchains, on-chain data cannot be deleted by us or by anyone.

11. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you;
• Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
• Request deletion of your personal information (where we are not required to keep it);
• Withdraw consent to optional processing (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter);
• Object to or restrict certain processing;
• Request data portability in a commonly used machine-readable format;
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) — see oaic.gov.au.

To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time (typically 30 days) and may need to verify your identity before acting on the request.

Note that we cannot delete information from the Cardano blockchain, third-party platforms (such as YouTube comments or X posts) that you control directly, or content that other users have shared.

12. Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact [email protected] and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

13. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, credential rotation, and regular security review. No system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If a notifiable data breach occurs, we will comply with our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act.

14. Third-party links and embedded content

The Services contain links to and embedded content from third-party platforms — including YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Spreaker, X, Facebook, Discord, GitHub, Buy Me a Coffee, Pinata/IPFS, and others. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the source website, and those sites may collect data about you, set cookies, and track your interaction. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

15. Marketing and unsubscribing

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or by emailing [email protected]. Transactional and account-related emails (such as order confirmations or password resets) are not marketing and cannot be opted out of while you continue to use the relevant Service.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Material changes will be highlighted on the website or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Services after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
