Cardano Web3 Bounties: My Orion Fund Build
Episode by Peter Bui on July 30th, 2026
Introduction
In this episode of the Learn Cardano podcast, Peter unveils an exciting new initiative aimed at bolstering the Cardano ecosystem: the Web3 Bounty platform. This innovative platform is designed to attract talent and projects by incentivising community members to engage in various tasks, from content creation to bug reporting. With the backing of the $80 million Orion Fund and participation in the Draper Dragon Genesis program, this initiative is timely and crucial for fostering growth within the Cardano community.
The Web3 Bounty Platform
Peter begins the episode by discussing the formation of the Rhine Fund, an $80 million fund supported by Cardano Treasury funding and Draper University. The primary goal of this fund is to identify and support promising projects that will enhance the Cardano ecosystem by attracting more developers and projects.
Inspired by successful bounty systems in other ecosystems, particularly the Superteam initiative in Solana, Peter introduces his concept for the Web3 Bounty platform. This platform allows projects to post jobs that community members can fulfil, whether it be creating memes, producing videos, debugging code, or participating in testnets. Participants who contribute significantly to these tasks will receive rewards, fostering a culture of engagement and collaboration.
Learning from Experience
Peter shares his personal experiences with bounty platforms, highlighting the positive outcomes he observed while participating in Superteam. He noted how projects that engaged with the community through bounties saw increased marketing, user engagement, and ultimately, funding for their initiatives. He emphasises that Cardano has been lacking a similar platform, and he is determined to fill that gap with Web3 Bounties.
Current Status and Future Plans
Currently, the Web3 Bounty platform is in its testnet phase, and Peter is actively seeking users to test the platform, provide feedback, and report any issues encountered. He envisions using this platform to incentivise users to participate in regular sprints, focusing on identifying and resolving issues to refine the product continually.
Peter’s participation in the Draper Dragon Genesis program in San Francisco will play a significant role in the development of the Web3 Bounty platform. Over the next four weeks, he plans to work intensively on the project, implementing the lessons learned from his experiences and the feedback received from the community.
Throughout this journey, Peter invites listeners to follow along as he documents the process of building the platform and shares insights into the challenges and successes he encounters. He encourages community members to engage with the platform and contribute to its growth, emphasising the importance of collective effort in building a robust ecosystem for Cardano.
Conclusion
The Web3 Bounty platform represents a significant step forward for the Cardano community, offering a structured way for individuals to contribute while being rewarded for their efforts. As Peter continues to develop this initiative, the potential for increased engagement and innovation within the Cardano ecosystem is immense. This episode serves as both an introduction to the platform and a rallying call for community involvement.

Hey everyone, I’ve got some good news to share here. Early this year, the Rhine Fund formed and this was an $80 million fund that came about from Cardano Treasury funding and Draper University, Draper Dragon is all behind this. It’s all about looking for the next big projects that are building on Cardano or attracting more talent into the Cardano ecosystem, more developers, more projects, people that are looking to additional funding and start building on the Cardano ecosystem in general. And earlier this year, I came up with an idea.
This is something that I really want to try and push and it is the Web3 bounty platform. I’ve seen this grow in the Solana ecosystem with Superteam and they’re doing an amazing job there, growing the Superteam ecosystem where projects can post up jobs and creators, developers and general community members come in and fulfill those jobs. It may be something as easy as creating memes or creating videos or debugging code or participating in a testnet and all those type of activities get paid for. So the best ones that contribute to those particular campaigns get some money from the platform itself and I thought that was a brilliant idea.
I even participated in Superteam to see what it was like and I actually really enjoyed it. I made a couple of videos. I didn’t win out on those ones there, but I saw the value here. All the projects that participated in Superteam got some extra marketing.
They got engagement, they got users onto their platform and the ones that won out, the ones that participated got USD. They got funding, they got money for their participation and Cardano doesn’t have anything like that and I wanted Cardano projects to experience what that was like. So I created Web3 Bounties. Now this is the platform here at the moment.
You may have seen me posting about it and it’s still on testnet at the moment but I really wish I had something like this to entice people to come along and actually test the platform itself. I’m at the stage where a lot of projects are that needs users to come on board and give feedback, report issues and whatnot, such as a report issue here from their experience so I could see what it’s like, what I need to improve and what I need to change. And if I had this platform up and running, I would actually use my own platform to incentivize users to go through sprints, weekly sprints and say, hey, let’s submit some issues here. Let’s get things fixed and improved and then come back in a couple of weeks and do that again and again and again until we have a really refined product.
So this is what I’m building, guys. This is what got accepted into the Draper Dragon or Orion Fund Genesis program and what I’ll be refining and working on over the next four weeks when I’m over in San Francisco to build out for the Kadana ecosystem and then take wider and take it further. I’ve got a lot of plans for this one here and if you want to experience and learn what’s going on, how I’m building things, what I’m doing with it, make sure you hit that subscribe button, guys. I’m going to take you on a whole journey here so you can experience what I’m doing, some of the things that I’m learning.
I can’t talk about everything. I can’t talk about the program itself from Draper U or the other projects specifically, but I can talk about the experience and what I’m taking out of it and implementing in the Web3 Bounties platform. So come along for the ride, guys. Make sure you hit that like, subscribe, notification bell.
I just want to thank everyone that supported me over the last four or five years of being in the Kadana ecosystem. I finally got something that’s worth working for and hopefully you guys come along for the ride and benefit from it as well. Anyway, guys, thank you for the support. Hit that thumbs up on your way out and stay positive and I’ll see you in the next.
