Cardano and Midnight had a packed week heading into Token2049, with updates across builder funding, stake pools, wallet recovery, developer tooling, payments, privacy apps, enterprise custody and real-world adoption.

In this episode, Peter walks through the stories that matter for builders and users: the Alpha Growth RFP, EMURGO stake pool handover, SecondFi recovery status, ODATANO’s Cardano and Midnight API work, Chatsoon testing, Noctis launches, Midnight activity around Token2049, Barça Fan Lab, Fireblocks support for Cardano Native Tokens, Catalyst Pilot 2026, Cardano Venture Hub and the proposed k=1000 stake pool parameter change.

SecondFi, EMURGO Pools and Delegator Updates

The episode starts with updates that directly affect Cardano users. Peter covers EMURGO’s stake pool transition to Shunsuke Murasaki and explains why delegators may want to check where their ADA is currently staked.

He also revisits the SecondFi recovery process, including why affected wallets are not earning staking rewards, why the recovery work is taking longer, and how the situation may affect Midnight-related claims for users whose wallets were compromised.

Cardano and Midnight APIs for AI Agents

A major theme is the emerging bridge between Cardano, Midnight and agentic applications. Peter discusses Max Weber’s ODATANO work, including the idea of a single API for Cardano and Midnight that can read blocks and UTXOs, build transactions, sign locally, submit actions and anchor proofs on Midnight.

That connects into the broader agentic payments narrative, including x402-style payments on Cardano and the need for systems that support identity, escrow, local signing, compliance and selective disclosure.

Chatsoon and Midnight Identity Ideas

Peter also shares what he has been building for Token2049: Chatsoon, a networking CRM and digital business card app for events. What started as a simple way to track contacts has expanded into contact scanning, follow-ups, potential Cardano wallet onboarding, stake pool delegation ideas and a possible Midnight privacy identity layer.

The practical use case is simple: meet someone at an event, scan their card or badge, capture context, follow up later and eventually connect that identity flow to Cardano and Midnight infrastructure.

Noctis, Token2049 and Midnight Privacy Apps

Noctis Zone is another Midnight-related project Peter highlights. It is moving toward launchpad-style token launches with privacy features, which Peter frames as both exciting and worth thinking through carefully because privacy changes how users inspect allocations, wallets and launch activity.

With Token2049 approaching, the episode also points to Midnight events in Singapore, including Enter the Night, Midnight Cafe and privacy-focused pitch activity.

Enterprise Rails and Real-World Use Cases

Fireblocks support for Cardano Native Tokens is one of the biggest infrastructure updates in the episode. Peter explains why custody, policy controls and enterprise access matter for exchanges, banks, fintechs and Cardano projects that want to integrate into serious institutional systems.

The episode also covers FC Barcelona’s Barça Fan Lab, developed with Andamio and using Cardano for verifiable digital credentials and fan participation, plus Catalyst Pilot 2026 and the Cardano Venture Hub cohorts focused on stablecoins, identity, lending, payments, healthcare, supply chains and proof-of-origin use cases.

The k=1000 Debate

The final major section is Peter’s view on the proposed Cardano parameter change that would raise stakePoolTargetNum from 500 to 1000. He explains why the change could affect ADAOZ and other smaller stake pool operators by reducing the saturation threshold and potentially splitting rewards across more pools.

Peter is supportive of decentralisation goals, but argues the timing, size of the change and current level of Cardano network activity need to be considered carefully.

Key Takeaways

  • Alpha Growth’s RFP is open for builders who want to bring new products into the Cardano ecosystem.
  • EMURGO’s stake pools are moving to Shunsuke Murasaki, giving delegators a reason to review their delegation.
  • SecondFi recovery is still underway, and affected wallet users may miss staking rewards and some Midnight claim opportunities.
  • ODATANO aims to make Cardano and Midnight accessible through one API for AI-agent and privacy-aware workflows.
  • Chatsoon is evolving from a networking CRM into a possible Cardano and Midnight identity/onboarding experiment.
  • Fireblocks support for Cardano Native Tokens gives enterprise users a familiar custody and policy-control layer.
  • The proposed k=1000 parameter change could materially affect stake pool operators and delegators.

Alright guys, a lot of updates in the Cardano and Midnight ecosystems. I’m going to take you through everything that’s happened last week and it’s been a jam-packed week for sure and we’re going to have a lot more announcements coming up because Token 2049 is coming up next week. So let’s have a look at what’s been going on in the Cardano and Midnight ecosystems. So first off, if anyone is building anything out there, this is any chain, right?

Any chain, EVM, Solana, whatever it is, you may be interested in this RFP from Alpha Growth and this is to build stuff within the Cardano ecosystem. So if you’re building something crazy over on the EVM side of things and are interested in implementing something similar onto Cardano and building on Cardano as well, there’s quite a bit of money up for grabs here from Alpha Growth with this treasury proposal that they got. So have a look into the details for this. From the time of recording, you’ve got about another two days to submit your applications.

They’re due on the 30th of September, so do look into that. Links down below for you guys in the show notes. Now the first one here that I wanted to go into was around Emurgo’s stake pools. So Emurgo is one of the founding entities of Cardano and they have, I think, seven or so stake pools and they’ve been running for quite a long time.

But because Emurgo is closing down at the moment, they’re slowly releasing everything, they’re letting their staff go and also their assets. And one of their assets is their stake pools. Now Sensuke is a Cardano member, he’s been working for Emurgo from the very early days as translator for Ken and he’s involved in many different things. I met him one or two times, I can’t remember where off the top of my head, but I remember talking to him and he is, it looks like he’ll be taking over control and management of the stake pools from Emurgo.

Now there’s a bit of debate whether this is a good or bad thing. Overall, I think it’s a good thing because otherwise they’ll just shut down the stake pools and seven stake pools or the delegation to those seven stake pools will essentially be put away and people will stop earning rewards. So if you’re delegated to any of those pools, you may want to look into what your ADA is doing, where it’s delegated. You may want to look into moving your ADA from Emurgo’s pools.

So if you’re using Yoroi, SecondFi or any of those wallets before the compromise, you may need to move your assets and delegate elsewhere. So have a look into that at least. It may be an option. I know Sensutsuke is a good operator.

He’s got Kadano in his heart. So from my point of view, in regards to who should have taken over control, that is kind of like a good handover. But there’s a lot of debate at the moment about this and how it should have been done. But Emurgo is its own entity and its own thing and the way they’ve been operating over the years is debatable.

But you need to know that there’s change here happening. So if you are delegated to Emurgo’s pools, have a look at where it’s delegated and look for a new pool if you want to. Otherwise it should still be in good hands there. But you do have the options to change.

Now this also kind of ties into the updates around SecondFi and what’s been happening there. So I’ve been trying to keep you guys up to date with everything that’s happening with this particular SecondFi hack and recovering assets from it. We are still waiting for the recovery process of getting our assets back. When that’s going to happen, I don’t know.

It should have been sometime this month. But there’s multiple different security audits that need to be done and this is being recovered in quite a unique way using zero knowledge proofs. A way to prove that the wallet that was hacked was yours and then you now need to get them delivered somewhere else without interacting with that wallet. So it’s a very interesting way of doing it and because of those complications it’s taking a little bit longer to actually get this out the door.

So lots of teams are doing security audits around it from what I’ve been told. So we’re waiting a little bit longer. Now there have been some questions and FA frequently asked questions around what’s going on with rewards and all that. Any of the rewards that were lost during this process you won’t be getting.

And will you be compensated for it? No, you won’t be. At the moment the rewards I think are being taken by the hacker. So the hackers got the ADA and they’re getting the rewards.

I think the white hat hacker isn’t staking the ADA at all. So it’s just sitting in a wallet not earning anything. So they’re not earning off the rewards while sitting there waiting either. So that’s from my understanding.

I could be wrong but that’s from what I understand. So if you’re wondering if you’re going to get your rewards you’re not going to. Now the other main question I’ve been asked is what about knight claiming rewards? Now I worked out that all of my knight rewards myself were in a wallet that was compromised under UROI.

So at this moment I haven’t been able to claim anything from the second or third batch. So I might not be able to claim anything at all. Which means I’ve lost all those knight staking rewards as well. So that’s a huge downer too.

But you know I’m going to look into it and if there is a way to claim them back I will. And as soon as I know you guys will know as well. So that’s where we’re at with all of that. That’s a really unfortunate situation.

Could have been a lot worse but I’m now just waiting for the reclaiming of the rewards that were not rewards the ADA that was taken out of our wallets and all the NFTs and everything else around that too. So fingers crossed we do get that back very very soon. All right on to new and brighter news. We’ve got some really cool interesting updates from Max here from Max Weber and he is working on ODATANO however you say that and he’s working on Enterprise Energetic Access for ODANATO and Nightgate.

This is a combination between between Codano and Midnight. It’s an API where you can use one wallet one access point and it gets data and transactions across both ecosystems. So what he’s doing is really really cool stuff and it allows you to be able to build once and interact with both chains. So if you’re building for Codano, if you’re building for Midnight you can just use that and it will interact either way.

So hopefully I got that right from my understanding. But he’s working with AI agents at the moment and trying to push that. He got into the build hackathon at Token 2049, the Origins hackathon. 36 hour sprint and I’m assuming he’s in the Codano track which is AI agentic development and building up that stream of the ecosystem.

It’s got to be his Codano developer right? He’s not going to be off on one of the other streams. But it’s going to be a really interesting to see what comes out of this and I will be there. I will check it out and see what Max is up to as well as all the other developers too.

But going back to his post here. So let me just read this out for you for the listeners on the audio podcast. What if your AI agent could use Codano and Midnight like any other API? No account, no invoice, just one API for Codano Midnight.

One key paid with X402 on Codano. Read the blocks, use CXOs, contract states, build transactions as actions, sign locally and submit, anchor and prove on Midnight, values, hiddens, fees sponsored. Live analytics, Codano transactions in the last 24 hours, 7 days, latest blocks, etc, etc. So agentic building built up on the Codano Midnight ecosystems, private transactions, everything that we want to see happen.

And I do really, I really am bullish on the side of privacy when it comes to transactions and what Midnight has to offer as well. Because this is a lot of reasons why institutions haven’t been able to move into the crypto side of things, because their transactions are public. But from an auditing point of view, if you need to show an auditor that you’re not money laundering, you have to be able to show those transactions, the values and where it’s all coming from. So that whole idea of selective disclosure is really important.

But then tying this into the agentic economy and having the agents being able to use private transactions and then just prove if they need to in that process, I think is really powerful. So we’re going to see a lot coming out of this. I will start playing around with this as well and seeing what I can do with Midnight privacy wallets and everything else around that. And that kind of leads me into something I’ve been working on and building over the last week.

Now, because I’m going to Singapore, I want to build up a really quick networking CRM. So anytime I meet someone, I can just punch in their details and I know where I met them, what they’re related to, et cetera, et cetera. Because I’m using LinkedIn, I’m using X, I’m using Telegram. And it’s all kind of like all over the place.

So I wanted a CRM for that so I can actually collect all the data and have a centralized place. That just went out of control and I built a full on working app for this. So this is an app that I built. You can capture anyone’s details by scanning their business card QR code or whatever you may have of them, like even a photo with the lanyard, you can capture that as well.

You scan their card QR code, connect it with the app. You put contacts around it so you can say, okay, this is such and such that I met at this event, investor token 2049, high priority, so I should contact them and follow them up in a few days. And then you can tap, follow their details and send a follow up, follow up message. You can send that to their WhatsApp text message or LinkedIn or whatever other platform they may use that you messaged or connected with them through.

So it’s a really nice way of doing it. But I’m going to tie this into the crypto side of things. So everyone that creates a profile will have a Cardano wallet. I wanted to do the whole sponsored transactions and push some ADA over to them from my stake pool and then stake that ADA to my stake pool as well.

So it’s kind of like using my own ADA to, yeah, whatever, but we’ll create more transactions on chain and actually create new wallets that didn’t exist before. Because a lot of the people that I’m going to meet are VCs, investors that aren’t in the Cardano ecosystem. So I thought that was a pretty cool way of onboarding users. And I’m going to do that.

The second part I was going to integrate in was a midnight privacy wallet. So you could identify yourself as such and such person with zero knowledge proofs. You have to prove it on the web app side of things and connect it with some third party identity like KYC process. And then you can use that app, that wallet, your identifier.

Let me just show you what the identifier looks like here. But you can use that identifier wallet and just be able to, in one glance, have something like this, just a simple QR code. So it doesn’t quite work on this screen. That’s a QR code page.

And then you can use that to prove that you are over 18 and allowed in a bar or you are who you say you are. And I’ve got like a mobile wallet version as well. So that’s like the Apple wallet version. So it’s pretty flexible.

And if I get that working right with a midnight privacy ID, that’s kind of one of the really good things that you can get working straight away. So that’s what I’m working on at the moment. And it was just a side project networking CRM turned into a business CRM slash Cardano wallet slash midnight privacy passport. Anyway, guys, do check that out.

Links down below is in testing at the moment. I’ll put instructions down below so you can test it. I do have the test instructions up on my X account here as well. So it’s in version 1.2.

I’m just releasing 1.2.1 at the moment. But there’s a whole bunch of ways that you can get into the test flight for Apple and then the Google Group and the Play Store as well if you’re on Android. And of course, there’s a web app as well. If you don’t want to use it on a mobile app, you can use it through the web app.

That has the latest features and everything should be in complete parity across all those different experiences. So do please check this one out. Support what I’m doing here within the Cardano and Midnight communities. All right.

So I got a little bit sidetracked. Now, this ties into some of the stuff around the agentic side of things. And there was an announcement from BlackRock just the other day that says that BlackRock needs AI and it needs AI to do a lot of these agentic transactions. Now, I thought this post here was quite interesting.

This one’s from BlackRock, and they confirmed that what we’re building is what they need at the moment. They need on-chain ability for AI to work through and do transactions. That’s everything that the X.402 protocol on Cardano is doing with Misumi as well. So Misumi adds in all these other different logic layers for the agentic payments and what Patrick has done at Misumi to get AI agents payments working well, I think is really well thought out.

I haven’t gone through that whole entire experience myself yet, but a lot of the things that he thought through are exactly what BlackRock needs to be able to do all of these payments through AI agents. So we’re going to see a lot more of this. A couple of the things that he mentioned are the decentralized identities, the different payment systems, there’s escrows tied into it as well. So all sorts of different things that are needed for the agentic economies.

This other cool platform that has launched at the moment, and this is from MJ or Jinx, you may have seen him around on X and Telegram, but he’s built up this platform called Noctis, Noctis Zone. This is a launch pad for meme coins, tokens, whatever you might want to launch, but it ties it into the midnight side of things. So now we can start looking into launching privacy tokens on midnight. How cool is that?

So we can. I’m in two minds about this, because I looked into it and went, great, now we can launch crypto tokens that are private. But now because they’re private, we have no idea who’s launching these tokens. We don’t know allocations of the various wallets that are behind the tokens.

So there’s that whole veil over the projects now, because we can tie in the whole privacy side of things. So I’m in two minds about that. I think it’s great, because if you’re launching a real world asset and you’re tokenizing stocks or something like that, that is definitely something that you don’t need full disclosure on, because there’s a whole lot of legal ramifications behind it. There’s a lot of legal backing and all those aspects that are controlled by legal entities.

Whereas when you’re launching a meme coin, you don’t need to know who’s behind the token or anything like that. And usually you have the wallets, so that you can track where things are going, who’s behind what. You can try to work out who owns the initial wallet and who’s the people that got allocations before the pre-sales and all those things. But you don’t see that on the midnight side of things, because it’s all private.

Will we see a lot of activity here, because it attracts pump and dumpers? I don’t know. I’m in two minds about this, because it kind of brings in more users and agents, especially because of those certain privacy aspects. But then for the end retail user, you’re kind of left holding the bag sometimes and wondering if this is a legitimate project or not, because you can’t try and scope in and dig into the details or no one else can, and then tell you who’s behind the project or anything.

So awesome stuff to see more stuff being built on Midnight and being launched. So it’s coming soon at the moment, it’s not quite launched yet, but it’s launched on the Kadana side of things. But we will see this one launch and we will see more projects launching privacy tokens on the Midnight chain. Really cool things to see.

Awesome stuff there, MJ. Now if you are going to Token 2049 and you do want to see what Midnight’s doing, there’s quite a few events. So the main event is the Enter the Night event. So we’ve got major announcements coming out of the Midnight team on that particular evening.

I will be there, I will be covering it. So if you do want to come along, if you are at Token 2049, do come along to that particular event. I’ll be around at Midnight Cafe as well during the day. The next day that we’ve got, I think an investor afternoon, Charles will be doing a keynote and then we’ve got some more things happening in the afternoon, such as the Privacy Pitch.

So this is a pitch competition for projects such as Noctis that will be there, I think, pitching as well, I think, as well as many others that are building some really cool things in the Midnight space. So do come along, check that one out. Hopefully we’ll see you guys in Singapore if you are heading there. Now this story here was pretty cool to see.

Now this was a long time coming and the FC Barcelona, big soccer, football team, whatever you want to call it, but they have launched or are in the process of launching their Web3 wallet with their fan club, Barca Fan Lab. Now this is a whole Web3 experience that allows the users to engage with the fan club experience for the Barcelona football club. Really cool to see. This is another thing I’m in two minds about.

One, it’s great that Cardano is getting this type of exposure with the FC Barcelona football club and we’re seeing that top tier level kind of experience exposure because we are seeing lots of news outlets pick this one up and cover it as well. So this was Yahoo Sports, we’re seeing other crypto news outlets cover it as well. So there was a lot of coverage about this, got a lot of exposure and in the headline itself also mentions Cardano. So for exposure wise, amazing, for the fan experience itself, great as well because it brings in on-chain activity, brings in all that side of things.

Now the downside to this I thought was what the Web3 aspects are. Now there are some good things here and the digital community, the loyalty programs, fan participation, being able to engage with the fan base directly via the NFTs I thought was good. Again, verifiable digital credentials, that’s pretty cool as well. That’s a really good use case for the whole digital NFTs side of things.

But the collectible side of things, I’m not too sure about if that is a big selling point anymore these days, like digital JPEG collectibles that are tradable online. I don’t know the depth going in here and that kind of stuff has kind of died off recently. Where it has really taken off is the collectible RWAs, such as Pokemon trading cards. If you look at the Solana ecosystem where they’re doing RWAs of collectible trading cards for Pokemon cards, they’re doing $4 billion worth of transactions.

I think it was a day, it’s something absolutely ridiculous, the amount of money that is going through their trading platform for Pokemon cards is really high and they’re just trading the virtual ownership of that. If they’re doing something like that on the collectible fan club merchandise, I don’t know what they’re going to do, I haven’t seen the details about this, but if they do something on the same scale as that, as the Pokemon cards, sure, great, that would be absolutely amazing. But that’s the type of adoption that we need to see. The same things what the Solana guys are doing at the moment.

If we do see that kind of thing within what is being delivered here from the teams, amazing, absolutely amazing. But I’ve yet to see this in action, I’ve yet to see it actually working itself. But congratulations to the team for getting to this point and congratulations to FC Barcelona for launching a Web3 experience for their fans. Now this is pretty big news for the Cardano ecosystem and this is all around Firebox full integration for the Cardano ecosystem.

Now Firebox allows for a lot of things that banks and institutions need. So normally when a bank or enterprise solution says, all right, well, let’s integrate your project into our solution. Where are you in Firebox? Can we get access to your details within Firebox and then we can integrate you in?

And majority of the time projects just say, we’re not in Firebox, we don’t have access to it. And that has stopped a lot of Cardano projects being able to be put into enterprise solutions, other wallets, other things like Robinhood even, you know, those types of things. Because that connection wasn’t there, they’re all using Firebox for the level of security that provide, the custodial solutions for it, the policy controls and everything else that is enabled within Firebox itself. And Cardano didn’t have a full integration through, it had ADA and had a little bit of some other stuff that was added in, in the early days.

But now we have the full-fledged custody solution that we need. So you can custody, send, receive any Cardano native token, policy controls and everything else around it. So that is finally there. I think it’s still being rolled out at the moment, but the announcement came out from the Cardano Foundation and Fireblocks as well.

I probably won’t be able to find the Fireblocks announcement. Oh, there it is. But the Fireblocks announced it as well. So it’s there, it’s finally happened.

And this opens up a whole bunch of new solutions for any Cardano project. Now, I did look into this when I was at Draper University, they mentioned, oh, you could use Privy, you can use Fireblocks and some of these enterprise solutions for what you’re building. It would be a really good solution. Minimum, from what I’ve been told from other people, 20,000 a month, USD.

So I don’t quite have that money yet. I don’t have that kind of budget to be able to afford something like Fireblocks, but having that there is one of the things that you need if you want to go down the enterprise side of things. So it’s good to know we have it there. I’m not ready for it, but there are many other projects that do have the budgets for this.

So awesome stuff, really good news for the Cardano ecosystem. Now, continue on the builder side of things. Project Atlas has been going through their vetting process over the last couple of months. 117 applications, shortlisted to 31 projects, and now it’s selected down to 12.

And this is pulling out of a $2 million ADA fund to build in certain verticals. And some really cool, strong projects have come out of this. A lot of projects and names that you may already have known in the Cardano ecosystem, but a few new ones here and there too. Now, I can’t remember what all the verticals were off the top of my head, but here we are here.

We’ve got Stablecoins, Oracles, Programmable Tokens, Verifiable Identity, Payments Lending, Healthcare, and Supply Chain Tracking. So they’re the main verticals that they were asking for. So your project had to fit within those verticals. So nothing I was looking into fitting those verticals, and you kind of need a big team and everything around this.

But these are some of the projects that have gotten through. We’ve got spending of USDCX from Sync AI, got any to any bridge swap by ViaLabs. So ViaLabs, I’ve heard quite a bit of. Sync AI, I’ve heard of as well.

We have Stablecoin Oracle Perpetual Pilot from House of Titans. That’s great. The Atlas team are in there. We have the Identity Rails here by Align Health.

So they’re a new one. I haven’t heard it before. Compliant Secondary Trading of RWA Assets on WayUp. So that’s from Ada and Vulteam.

And that’s going to be interesting. So Compliant Secondary Trading of RWA Assets. I wonder what those assets are going to be. I didn’t look into that one yet.

We have in place collateral swaps from Dano Finance. There’s a little bit of drama around that one as well. But I’ll let you guys dig into that one. We have RWAs from Lava too.

So great stuff there. Congrats to the team. We’ve got Liquid Pith Oracle Integration. Fantastic.

New Human from Newcast. Robot Dids. Cool. On a 6 million shrimp export line.

Interesting. OK, I’ve got to look into that one there too. All Life Tokenized Products. This was the project that was doing durians on Kidano, by the way.

I haven’t looked into this one here. I might just have a quick look. Are they still doing durians? Durians are worth a lot of money.

I get that. I didn’t think it was quite worth the spend of what they were doing from the big… Yeah, OK, it is. Durian Farmers.

OK, all right. If they missed… They didn’t get in from the massive treasure withdrawal that they wanted. But they got in via Catalyst.

If they’re doing the work, it’s supply chain tracking. It’s an interesting pilot. We shall see how that one goes, guys. Let me know if you’ve ever tried durian before.

I haven’t tried it myself. My grandma used to eat it all the time. And I think growing up with the smell in my home kind of put me off. I never tried it myself.

Couldn’t do it. We got Pay Here. Stablecoin Checkout on any business by Sea Explorer. Cool.

And Regulated BRT Settlements by PAG Finance. That’s a new team as well there. So some old, some new, some interesting projects there. But this is all about using the chain for high value stuff like Pith.

We need to see how it’s integrated in. And then RWAs is the main driver at the moment. Stablecoin usage and RWAs. If we see more of that, we’ll see chain activity go up.

Every other chain is so far ahead at the moment. We need to play catch up on all those things. So really good to see. We’ve got more details about how the funding and everything else works.

But I’ll leave links down below for you guys. So you can look into all that too. Now there’s more of this venture stuff going. And the Cardano Foundation has announced the full cohort of the Cardano Accelerator Program from the Cardano Venture Hub.

We have a whole bunch of projects here too. Now this one here I thought was interesting because this really is a bunch of projects that I have never, ever heard of before. Except for Zen Global there. But all these other ones here, they’re all brand new.

They’re all new ventures that are coming in and we do need fresh ideas and fresh things coming in. So we have Embeddo. Embeddo makes vehicle emissions verifiable. Cool.

Great. Boom Boom Tag. Built Boom Connect, a platform that gives every physical product a blockchain-based digital product passport. Cool.

Verifying everything on-chain. Vita Baby. Vita Baby helps families choose safer, healthier food. Cool.

How do you put that on-chain though? Do you need on-chain stuff? I don’t know. Forget Three Protocol is building infrastructure for AIs to forget.

Give companies a way to unlearn specific information. Okay. Cool. Adreva Network.

Privacy-first added network where people opt in and earn for their attention. Okay. This is kind of similar to some other platforms that were around before as well. So we’ll see how that one works.

We’ve got Zenglate. Cool. That one’s been around for a while as well. Open Food Chain turns compliance into revenue.

Cool stuff, guys. And AgroGro. Built Crop Connect. Track trace infrastructure for agricultural supply chains.

Cool stuff. Each team gets an in-person kickoff week and 10,000 francs contribution towards adoption milestones and a demo day in front of investors early next year. So this is a very similar thing to the DraperU kind of experience. But I think the DraperU experience was a very condensed four-week program.

This is spread out a little bit further. So overall, really cool stuff. Maybe when my stuff is a little bit more mature, I’ll jump into a program like this as well. But yeah, that’s really cool.

Good to see new projects, new ideas, and everything come into the ecosystem as well. Now, this last new story I want to talk about is a Cardano governance action that was put on chain for voting for dReps. Now, this was quite a significant one because it will impact my state pool dramatically. And this is an increase of the k parameter from 500 to 1,000.

So the K parameter is the amount of state pools that are needed at this point in time to run the network. At the moment, it is set at 500 state pools. So 500 is the base number that we need, and then they want to increase this to 1,000. Now, this changes the amount of ADA that can be delegated to a pool.

So at the moment, there is a limit of how much ADA can be delegated to my pool, for example. I’m at about 72 million ADA that is being delegated to the pool. The limit at the moment is 75 million. So if we go over that 75 million, everyone in that pool gets less rewards, and it will go down and diminish.

So that’s a bad thing. Now, if we increase this K parameter from 500 to 1,000, it automatically pushes that threshold from 75 million down to 37.5 million ADA. So basically halve that amount. So I’d have to somehow communicate with all my delegates and say, hey, everyone that is delegated to my pool, you gotta move out.

Otherwise, we’ll all lose rewards. So that’s a really hard thing to do because a lot of the delegates that are in my pool have been delegating since like four or five years. So some have been delegating since day one of my pool being in operation. So being able to get users out of that is gonna be extremely hard.

Maybe when they see that they’re not getting any rewards or their rewards have diminished dramatically, they may move automatically, but I have to try and communicate them through the YouTube channel, whatever it is, to try and get them to move out of the pool. Now, at the moment, this may go through, I don’t know. Now I’m pulling up the data for this particular governance action at the moment from moving the K parameter from 500 to 1,000. And at the moment, it’s nowhere near being able to pass.

So everyone that doesn’t vote is automatically counted as a no. So you really have to rally the yes votes on this one to get it passed. At the moment, it’s less than a percentage saying yes to actually get this one passed. So I don’t see this one ever passing at all at this point in time.

Now, the whole idea here is that if the Cardano chain activity was really high and there was a lot of activity, if the price of ADA was really high as well, you may need more operators within the ecosystem to run the chain and keep it decentralized, et cetera, et cetera. And raising it now doesn’t make sense because there are some blocks that are still empty and some days when transactions are extremely low. The NFT era back in 2021, 2022 was a much higher deadly activity of transactions compared to what it is right now. So if we were to increase this, it should be increased with chain activity.

Increasing this as well right now will also, I believe, diminish everyone’s return on ADA, which is already diminishing as it is at the moment. So it’s roughly, I think my pool’s giving out about 2% at the moment, 2.2, 2.1%. And if we are to allow more pools to mint those rewards as well, those rewards are gonna diminish. Everyone’s gonna have less rewards overall over time because of the amount of pools are actually allowed to mint the blocks.

So for me, voting on this one as a yes right at this point in time just doesn’t make sense because of the lack of activity and the price action of ADA at the moment. If it was higher and was remaining higher as a sticky point, then it would make more sense to increase this to a higher volume as well. The drastic jump here as well from 500 to 1,000, I think is a little bit high. It should be increased incrementally over time from like 500 to 600 to 700 to 800, et cetera, et cetera, so that we don’t see this massive slashing of some of these pools such as my own and needing to get the delegation moving out of it as quickly as possible.

So it makes things a little bit hard for existing pool operators such as myself. I can totally understand that small state pool operators would love to see the delegation move and all that stuff, but I’m sorry guys, but I don’t see the point of increasing the amount of state pool operators that are needed with the amount of chain activity that is on chain at the moment. If it was a lot higher, it would make sense, but it’s not. So it doesn’t make sense to me at this point in time.

So you can see my pool here is at 92.5% saturation at 72 million stake. It’s gone up a bit over the last 10 epochs, but yeah, if this was to be dropped in half, I would have to get everyone to move their delegation. That’s gonna take a little bit of time to do. Anyway, that’s it.

That’s all I have for this particular update for you guys. And hopefully you got a lot out of this one here. Don’t forget to check out my chat soon app. Do have a look into that one as well.

Play around with it, scan a business card, see how it works for you, see how well it scans and interprets that data into a CRM data point for yourself. So please check it out. Give me some feedback. It’s on my ex profile.

I’ll pin it to the top at the moment and I’ll put it in the links in the show notes down below so that you guys can test that one out. Give me some feedback. Let me know what you guys think. And if you can’t do that, totally fine.

Just hit that thumbs up, like, subscribe, notification bell on your way out. You can also support me with the buy me a coffee link there as well. Buy me a coffee links, great way to support the channel and the stuff that I do here for Cardano and Midnight. If you are in Singapore at Token 2049, I’ve got some booking links.

So if you wanna have some one-on-one time, let me look over your project, whatever you’re building. Give me some advice there as well. I’d love to see and meet you guys there as well. So I’ll put a link to my booking thing.

It’s actually my chat soon profile. So check that one out.
